Grand Theft Auto VI is an open-world action-adventure game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games, scheduled to launch on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with no PC release date confirmed. 

The first mainline entry in the series since Grand Theft Auto V in 2013, marking the longest gap between entries in the franchise's history, the game has been delayed twice, first from an original 2025 window to 26 May 2026, then to its current November date, with Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick citing the need for additional polish to fully realise Rockstar's creative vision. GTA VI is widely reported to be the most expensive video game ever made, with development costs alone estimated to exceed $1 billion across roughly 13 years of development.

Set in the fictional state of Leonida, the game returns to Vice City for the first time since 2002's Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, reimagined as a modern satirical take on Miami and South Florida. Players control dual protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, a criminal couple navigating Leonida's underworld, with the ability to switch between both characters throughout the story. 

The game incorporates social media as a significant narrative and gameplay element, continuing Rockstar's tradition of satirising contemporary culture. Industry analysts project the game could sell around 20 million copies within its first 24 hours, potentially making it the fastest-selling entertainment product in history.
