In the latest Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay demo, that was shown to press and YouTubers on E3 2019, CD Projekt Red have revealed some of the game's RPG mechanics including the perk tree. Apparently, Cyberpunk 2077 will have 12 perk categories.

CD Projekt Red's action RPG Cyberpunk 2077 has got a brand new gameplay demo that is unfortunately available exclusively to those who are currently at the world's biggest gaming expo - E3 2019.

However, the press and YouTubers that got to see the demo are sharing their thoughts about the game and judging by their reports, this demo is more of "an under the hood" showcase rather than big blockbuster reveal that we got last year.

The demo is focused on RPG elements of the game, showing the choices players can make and character customisations. The demo also features a full perk tree and thanks to Polish journalists, who managed to write them down, we now have a full list of perk categories that will be available in Cyberpunk 2077. However, keep in mind that the game is still 10 months away and things can change along the way. Here is the list of perks:

  • Pistols
  • Rifles
  • Blades
  • Shotguns
  • Twohanded
  • Hacking
  • Assassinations
  • Cold Blood
  • Sniper Rifles
  • Engineering
  • Melee
  • Athletics

As you can see, a pretty standard selection with a couple of interesting ones like Cold Blood, which is probably connected to assassinations and precision during combat. Others are pretty self-explanatory and we know most of them from other RPG games.

The perk tree is separate from the skills system and as players level up, they will get to put XP points into certain perks that will unlock new abilities or make existing skills stronger.

At the moment, there is no detailed description of these perks and skills but we should get more info as the release date gets closer.
