Xbox Cloud Gaming now lets players stream owned titles

Microsoft has expanded Xbox Cloud Gaming to include the ability to stream games that players own personally, previously limited to Game Pass titles.

Microsoft hasn't stopped improving Xbox Cloud Gaming, and lately, it has gotten quite versatile. That's where one of the most long-awaited features finally saw daylight: the ability to stream games that players actually own personally.

Until now, the seamless beta of Xbox Cloud Gaming allowed streaming only on titles that were part of the Game Pass library. As such, Game Pass Ultimate subscribers had the ability to stream purchased games right onto supported devices, including TVs, smartphones, and tablets, through browsers.

Furthermore, Microsoft has announced the expansion of this feature to the Xbox app on PC and Xbox consoles in 2025.

This update is available across all 28 regions where Xbox Cloud Gaming currently holds its beta. Starting off, 50 games support the new capability, with Microsoft assuring more will join over time.

Included in this initial roster of titles are hot ones like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022), Baldur's Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Final Fantasy XIV Online, Stray, and Star Wars Outlaws.

This new feature opens more possibilities for more flexible and valuable options to players who can enjoy their collection without additional installs or downloads. This especially helps players that have to play on several devices or when the storage is running low.
