Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer says he has already played Elden Ring and "seen quite a bit". Spencer says Elden Ring is Miyazaki's most ambitious game ever.
Ever since FromSoftware revealed a teaser trailer for their next action RPG, Elden Ring, many hardcore souls-like genre fans have been waiting to hear more about Hidetaka Miyazaki's next creation. Sadly, gameplay footage and other details are yet to be revealed.
And while we, the mere mortals are waiting to hear more about Elden Ring, Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer already had the opportunity to play FromSoftware's upcoming game. Spencer even offered his thought on it, in the latest interview.
When asked how much of Elden Ring he had seen, Spencer told GameSpot's Tamoor Hussain, "I've seen actually quite a bit. I've played quite a bit."
Spencer also said Elden Ring is clearly Hidetaka Miyazaki's biggest game to date, so expect a proper mammoth once the game finally arrives, hopefully sometime in 2021.
"This is clearly the most ambitious game that [Miyazaki has] done," Spencer concluded.
So, there you have it, folks, while the community is craving to hear more about the game and as many fans go hollow with each passing day, Phil Spencer had the opportunity to enjoy Elden Ring, months before the release.
We wonder if he managed to beat the first boss, though, and if he's a fan of the souls-like genre overall. We doubt he spends his free time speedrunning Dark Souls 3 though, but it's possible that from time to time, he enjoys a good fight against good old Abyss Watchers.
Elden Ring is announced for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game still does not have a release date.
