Microsoft plans to update Xbox’s Achievements feature later this year. It will sport some visual changes and usability improvements which will make tracking achievements easier.
Members of Xbox Insiders can try out the new look now, but more people will gain access as testing continues.
Achievements Feature Gets Visual Refresh
This will be one of the largest updates Achievements have seen in years. Several elements will see a visual refresh as well as some handy new features. The biggest difference you will see is that Xbox Achievements will look different.
Each achievement will now feature new icons and animations. Rare achievements and classic achievements will stand out more. Achievement notifications will now also correspond with your selected system color.
If you have made changes to your dashboard in the past you may have already noticed this feature.
Better Ways to Manage Achievements
Aside from the visual changes, there are several small quality of life features added to help you better manage your achievements:
- Hide games from your achievement history
- See games that you have 100% pinned at the top
- New filters
Hiding a game from your achievements will only hide it from your profile.
Your total Gamerscore will not be affected. Gamers will also be able to quickly see which games they have 100% pinned at the top of their achievement list.
This coupled with the new filters should make tracking your achievements a little easier. Keep an eye out for when this update goes live to all players.
