World of Warcraft fans have been frantically trying to get a confirmation on whether WoW Classic would require an additional purchase and Blizzard have finally answered. Classic will be included as a part of the monthly subscription fee.
Blizzard have officially confirmed that World of Warcraft Classic will not require an additional purchase as the entire experience will be included into the regular monthly subscription. This means new players can start with a normal subscription plan and completely forego paying a AAA price as they can have an account without paying for the latest expansion.
Furthermore, the developers have recently announced a different model of deploying the patches and content to WoW Classic. The plan used to be split in four phases where content would be added, but now it has grown to six phases as the players get to relive World of Warcraft's glory days.
Phase 1 will be the launch of WoW classic and will be filled with a mix of one or more dungeons, raids or new bosses. This particular phase will include Molten Core, Onyxia and Maraudon. One has to wonder if Phase 1 will produce anything close to the legendary video about many dots .
Phase 2 will feature Dire Maul and the bosses Azuregos and Kazzak. While Blizzard folks didn't officially comment on it yet, it is highly unlikely we will see Kazzak rampaging through Stormwind again. Phase 3 will bring Blackwing Lair, Darkmoon Faire and Darkmoon deck drops.
Phase 4 will include Zul'Gurub and Emerald Dragonflight while Phase 5 will be a bit more substantial. It will include the start of the Ahn'Qiraj campaign which will once again feature the War Effort that will dictate whether the Ahn'Qiraj raid will become available to the players.
Naxxramas and Scourge invasion will come in Phase 6 but it is currently unknown when this phase might arrive as it has no release date. In fact, Blizzard specifically stated they didn't set any dates on any phase past the first one, which only has a rather wide release window during summer 2019 .
