Blizzard announced that the pre-patch for World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth is coming next Wednesday, 18 July 2018. This means new scenarios, class changes and the end of collecting artifact weapon appearances via Mage Tower challenge.

Sargeras got booped and now it's business as usual on Azeroth - Horde and Alliance are looking for an excuse to start another war. These excused will be arriving soon, with the first scenarios seemingly scheduled to kick off right as the patch lands.

Blizzard's official announcement doesn't explicitly say this, but it has a picture of Sylvannas heading to Teldrassil and we all know what happens next. I will not disclose it, for the sake of the few who didn't spoil the plot for themselves yet.

On the other hand, Blizzard did confirm that the class updates will go live alongside the pre-patch. This should prove to be an early practice with the new builds for players before setting foot in Kul Tiras and Zandalar once Battle for Azeroth launches which is 31 days from time of writing, according to the official countdown.

War Mode and PvP updates will also kick off immediately, bringing bounties, air drops and overall better open world PvP experience. We have already covered these changes so if you're curious about the new merged servers and PvP switch, you can do so on .

There is no mention of additional allied races, but this is expected as it would be kind of silly to recruit Kul Tiran humans before even being able to visit the place itself. More allied races will make an appearance once the expansion officially launches.

Meanwhile, players should have their hands full with grinding the pre-patch content as big bad Sylvannas does a bad thing and King Anduin Wrynn comes for revenge. There is a bit more important stuff to do before the pre-patch hits though.

For example, the Mage Tower challenges will no longer yield artifact appearances after 18 July 2018, so you might want to hurry up and collect the appearances you want before pre-patch hits.
