You've probably already heard that E3 2020 is being cancelled over Coronavirus concerns, and now we caught wind that Warner Bros were planning to stage a big show and talk about Harry Potter, new Batman game and Rocksteady's game.
The news comes from Kotaku's Jason Schreier, who earlier tweeted, "Warner Bros. Games was planning to do an E3 press conference this year for the first time, to talk about Batman, Harry Potter, and Rocksteady's game among others. Remains to be seen what they'll do now."
Now, new Batman and Harry Potter games have been recently discussed , but E3's cancellation changes a few things here.
The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) broke the news of E3 being cancelled saying, "After careful consultation with our member companies regarding the health and safety of everyone in our industry—our fans, our employees, our exhibitors and our longtime E3 partners—we have made the difficult decision to cancel E3 2020, scheduled for June 9-11 in Los Angeles".
It's difficult to get emotional when health concerns are in play, as they do take priority, but if true, it means we're missing out on quite a show.
Also, the wording is not by accident - the presentation was on a new Batman and Rocksteady's new game, meaning they're not one and the same.
Seeing as how public conventions are a no-no, however, we wouldn't be surprised if Warner Bros turned to digital and streaming for their press conferences.
While we cannot confirm it at the moment, Xbox already decided going for an all-digital event, so it's not inconceivable that Warner Bros will do something similar.
