Relic shared two videos detailing Dawn of War III and its multiplayer mode. The videos feature a glimpse into the action and a tutorial on assembling a perfect army.
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 3 for multiplayer will start on 21 April and last until 24 April. There are two preview videos showing you what to expect from the Dawn of War 3 open beta, and the game itself.
Relic released two videos showing us what will it be like in the thick of the battle.
The first video (if you can read this scroll up to find it) is named Assemble Your Troops. The video is 2:25 minutes long, but very intense, and features live audio recorded from players during a 3 on 3 match.
The second video (way down at the bottom of the page) is a multiplayer tutorial. The video walks us through the steps of prepping for the match, assembling the army and all that cool stuff.
There are many customisation options for the cosmetic side of things as well as for individual playstyle. As always, a faction must be chosen, and then you'll go on to choose three elite units. There will be five elite units for each faction available in the open beta.
The cosmetic side of things offers a range of different colours and combinations. Found that shade of pink which is just perfection? Go on ahead and choose your doctrine.
There are army and elite doctrines. The army one affects all of your army, no joke. The elite doctrine is trickier and there are more doctrines to unlock within it.
Three maps out of eight total will be available in the open beta. Matches come in 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 and 1vAI in "skirmish".
The end goal is to destroy the other team's power core. Before you get to that, there will be some shields and turrets in your way. The armies can be upgraded while the battle rages on, but you'll need certain resources for that.
