Warcraft 3 Reforged is finally live but it is off to a pretty poor start. Players are reporting downgraded cinematics, no UI improvements and connectivity issues among other things.
Warcraft 3: Reforged has been highly anticipated by the fans of the iconic strategy but by the looks of it, many are disappointed with the state of the game at the time of writing. Players have started to report various issues with the game but the biggest let-down is the visual downgrade.
It is safe to say that the game's cinematics looks pretty average when compared to previous footage that was shown at Blizzcon 2018. YouTuber GyLala made a comparison video that shows both versions of the cutscene. The one from Blizzcon 2018 has a cinematic feel to it, while the best way to describe the final version cutscene would be "work in progress".
This, of course, did not go well with Warcraft 3 fans who feel let down by Blizzard and want some answers from the publisher. "The game is in a horrible state right now. They downgraded the graphics from the demo by quite a lot. No new in-game cinematic, no new UI, no new graphical features. Let's just say that it's completely disappointing for a Blizzard game," Reddit user b__q wrote.
Players over at Blizzard forums are already asking for refunds, claiming that Warcraft 3 Reforged is just a skin pack and $30 is a bit too much for the game in its current state. "When they first announced the Game in 2018, they promised so much more," Blizzard forum user MavByte wrote. "What’s left now, is just a skin pack. And the price’s still the same. If they would lower the price, I’d be glad do buy it."
Other players report more serious problems with the launcher. Apparently, the game won't start at all and when it finally does, black screen issues are there to ruin the fun. Framerate issues are also persistent just like login errors and broken aspect ratio. It is safe to say that Warcraft 3 Reforged needs an update badly.
To end with a bit of laugh, the iconic threads are in full swing over at Blizzard forum so it is going to be quite a ride for the publisher in the next couple of days. Hopefully, they weather the storm and fix the issues in the upcoming patches.
