Complex Games quickly sped up the hype train for Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters by presenting some of the most powerful forces of Nurgle.
Primarchs are a pretty big deal in Warhammer 40,000 universe, which is why video games feature these powerful individuals from the dystopian future only on rare occasions. One such occasion will be Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters , which is coming 2022, as revealed by the latest dive into the development and presentation of the enemy units in the video below.
While the trailer features great reveals all around, the biggest one came at the end so let's start from there. If you're trying to avoid additional spoilers, you might want to watch the video first.
The players will control a squad of Grey Knights, some of the Imperium's finest and most powerful soldiers so the developers had to at least match them in power with the enemy forces. It's safe to say, the protagonists will be in for one hell of a fight as they will face off against a former Primarch, now a Daemon Prince - Mortarion.
Besides facing a traitor Primarch, the game is also cooking up an interesting conflict as the Grey Knights were, in large part, initially formed through the efforts of a Loyalist from Mortarion's own Death Guard legion .
While the Emperor's traitorous son certainly takes the spotlight despite being seen for only a brief moment in the video, the developers also presented a lot of other enemies and challenges we can look forward to.
For example, Nurgle's Bloom will cause mutations on planets that are infected by the big bad and it will add modifiers to missions the Grey Knights undertake there. Some modifiers include increased stats for enemies while others will give their attacks special properties.
Meanwhile, there are also Nurgle's Champions who are going to basically assume to role of bosses as they posses unique abilities and are described as massive obstacles for the players.
