Valkyria Chronicles 4 was revealed last year but Sega gave us a really wide window of release - some time in 2018. This has been recently updated to ''Fall 2018'', also known as the busy season - which narrows it down ever so slightly.
Valkyria Chronicles 4 is also listed on Amazon for the PS4 and Xbox One with a 16 October 2018 launch date, but this was confirmed to be just a placeholder date by Sega. The game can already be pre-ordered from the official site . Pre-orders are available for all three supported platforms - PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. AltChar strongly advises against pre-orders, but it's your money, so do what you want.
To clear up any confusion, the ''Fall 2018'' release date refers to Europe and North America. Australia will be getting the game a bit later - in Spring 2019, not in Spring 2018 as per the original plan.
The official Valkyria Chronicles 4 website contains more information on the new classes, characters and the game's story. Post launch content is planned, as there is already a button saying ''DLC'' but it has no function yet. Valkyria Chronicles 4's features will include a new character roster, return of the BLiTZ battle system, and a new class called Grenadier.
Valkyria Chronicles fans are already growing restless as the game is the first instalment in the main canon since Valkyria Chronicles 3 happened 7 years ago on the PSP. Fans are also hoping for more games from the franchise, after the Valkyria Chronicles remaster's success on PS4.
The Xbox One version of Valkyria Chronicles 4 will not be available in Japan, but the PS4 version will land on 22 March 2018 in the country and a Nintendo Switch version will be available starting with summer 2018.
Meanwhile, Valkyria Chronicles will make its way to Japan a bit earlier. While no Xbox One version is planned for Japan, the PS4 version will launch in the country on March 22 and the Switch version to follow sometime in the summer.
