Uncharted creator Amy Hennig and Skydance New Media have revealed that they are working on a brand new, narrative-driven, action-adventure Star Wars game.
Amy Hennig will finally get to make her own Star Wars game. In today's announcement, Uncharted designer revealed together with Skydance New Media that a new Star Wars game is in development at the studio.
As expected for a game helmed by Hennig, it's a narrative-driven, action-adventure game featuring an original story in the Star Wars galaxy.
In the announcement, Hennig said that watching Star Wars transformed her creative life, adding how proud she is to be working on a game from the franchise she loves.
"I’ve often described how seeing Star Wars in 1977 essentially rewired my 12-year-old brain, shaping my creative life and future indelibly," said Hennig. "I’m elated to be working with Lucasfilm Games again to tell interactive stories in this galaxy that I love."
Amy Hennig previously worked on a Star Wars game at EA's Visceral studio but sadly, the project got cancelled by EA heads.
At the moment, the details about her new Star Wars title are pretty scarce. We don't know the release date, or whether for how long the game has been in development. It's possible that it's still in the early stages so don't expect to see it anytime soon.
In addition to this project, Skydance New Media are also working on another big title with Marvel Entertainment. It's an original story and will feature beloved Marvel characters and that's about everything we know about the project.
All in all, it's safe to say that Amy Hennig and Skydance New Media will be pretty busy in the coming years. We can't wait to see and hear more.
