FIFA 20's physical sales are traditionally strong in the UK, as the game proved by reclaiming the throne from Nintendo's hit Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
It's been a quiet week in retail though, with no newcomers to the Top 10. In terms of new releases, Snowrunner came in 12 place, but that was about it.
FIFA 20 continues the good work of its predecessors in the UK. Video game physical sales there are famously dominated by EA's sports franchise, which now waved off another sales giant.
We're talking about Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which has rapidly established its name as one of the most popular games ever, let alone in the last period.
In fact, the launch month of Animal Crossing: New Horizons has beaten all Nintendo's Mario and Zelda records, in spite of the two being company icons, and came in behind 2018 and 2008's Smash Bros in dollar sales.
However, the best-selling game of March and second best-selling game of 2020 has taken a step down from the first place, and now sits in second place.
It's said that the rest of the week has been pretty great for physical sales, even in spite of the social distancing. You'd expect the market to take more of a hit in situations like these but the figures have been surprisingly resilient.
Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has seen an uptick in sales, which comes after some free weekend promotions in the game.
