DICE have announced that Battlefield V time to kill changes are now live on all platforms. Global community manager Dan Mitre shared the patch notes on Reddit and explained how the tweaks will affect the current weapons and damage models.
Dice implemented the first changes to Battlefield V's time to kill which include various weapon nerfs and damage model tweaks. According to the developer, this is just the first set of changes as they look to "ensure a more even gameplay experience" to all players.
The maximum damage for most of the weapons is now lower which means it will take on average one more bullet to kill. Shot multipliers have been dropped from 1.0x to 0.85x for all the body parts except the head. Self-loading rifles suffered the biggest nerf and now stand at 0.80x.
Also, the distance at which players will need to hit enemies with more bullets is affected. For example, one of the most popular Medic weapons Gewehr 43 now takes four shots to the body to kill at 39 meters compared to three hits in the original time to kill values.
Assault rifles can no longer kill with only 4 hits to the body and it will take 6 bullets at 21 meters and 7 bullets at 51 meters to kill your opponent. Same goes for LMGs and MMGs.
For those who love their SMGs, it will be hard to accept the range nerf which will now make it even harder to kill from distance and that was already a pretty tough task even for Battlefield veterans. The players were pretty annoyed about this one saying that the changes will kill the Medic class and that SMGs were already one of the weakest weapons in the game.
Battlefield V should now become a similar experience to Battlefield 1 with these changes. For the majority of Battlefield V community, the current time to kill was acceptable and the only problem was in fact with time to death and netcode.
One Reddit user asked Dice to focus on other problems like bugs and lack of content rather than trying to cater the game to those who don't play it that often. Wait, wasn't that also EA's marketing plan for Battlefield V?
Anyway, for those who prefer the old time to kill, a new server playlist named Conquest Core has been added and for more detail about the patch check out Dice's post on Battlefield subreddit .
