The official announcement of Xbox states, "Like our double-feature last year with Starfield Direct, immediately following the Showcase, we’ll be airing a special deep-dive into the next installment of a beloved franchise. We can’t say much, so for now we’ll call it the Xbox Games Showcase followed by [REDACTED] Direct."

From the teasers, players are assuming that the big reveal will be the next Call of Duty title, which is being developed by Treyarch. The next Call of Duty title is rumoured to be titled Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War.

As the rebooted Call of Duty: Modern Warfare trilogy approaches its end, Treyarch is set to take over the reigns of Call of Duty with their new title. The game will feature a complete campaign along with the usual multiplayer game mode. After its release, the game and its assets will also be integrated into Call of Duty: Warzone 2.

The new Call of Duty title will also feature the new cross-progression system with Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile.
