The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild just got its first DLC pack. The DLC brought a new dungeon and a fresh difficulty mode. New outfits and head wear are also out there somewhere.

The Master Trials DLC pack added a 45-floor dungeon named Trial of the Sword. The dungeon features rooms full of enemies Link must defeat. Pretty standard right? The catch is, he must do so only with the weapons and items he collects during the course of this activity - you'll check your current equipment at the door.

For your troubles, you get an upgrade for your Master Sword. The upgrade keeps the sword fully powered at all times, no cooldown, with its ranged beam attack and unbreakable, at 60 damage.

After you complete a set of levels, the game will allow you to re-enter the dungeon at a later point. However, you won't have any of the weapons or items from the floors you've previously cleared. There is the occasional rest floor, with a cooking pot to brew meals and potions.

The Master Trials DLC also adds new quests. The quests have a classic Zelda themed loot at the end. It also introduces a harder difficulty mode, an item that allows you to create a fast-travel point anywhere and more.

The item that allows fast-travel is called the Travel Medallion. Also, a slew of headgear became available with the DLC: Korok Mask, Majora’s Mask, Midna’s Helmet and Tingle Hood.

Tingle Hood has an entire outfit that goes with it, the thing is, everything is scattered around Hyrule for you to find. Once you've found the Tingle Shirt and Tingle Tights, there's an entire phantom armour for you to hunt down.

The new difficulty mode is called the Master Mode and it will fill Hyrule with higher-level monsters that recover health and occasionally float up on balloons in order to deal some aerial damage. There is also a fresh feature that will show you all the places you've been for the last 200 hours of gameplay.

This is the first of two DLC expansions on the way, with the other being the Champions' Ballad pack, which is due out later this year. That includes a new story chapter centered around the other four champions from Link's era.

All DLCs are available via an Expanison Pass that costs £17.99.
