The Division's August Shield, named Phoenix is going live Thursday, 16 August 2018. Considering it will require players to delve into Survival, one of the most challenging modes for beginners, the community has decided to help out with it.

Phoenix will require players to survive five hours in Survival, kill five Hunters and extract five items in total. The five hours bit will count all the time players survive across multiple attempts, so it's not as bad as it sounds, but it requires some dedication.

Considering that many players get discouraged after a few minutes in Survival, a redditor by the name of rubenalamina decided to organise an event where veterans of the mode who are well familiar with it can pair up with newcomers and help them out with learning the ropes or even the entire Shield affair while they are at it. The event will apply to all players, regardless of which platform they play on.

In order to participate in the event, as a veteran or a newbie, players will need to join the official , and look for the #survival_events channel. Those who want to sign up as volunteers and help others can fill out rubenalamina's  , but they are not obligated to do so. If someone feels like helping others, they can simply jump into the channel and offer help at any given time, but the form will help out with streamlining the whole event.

Phoenix Shield will have kicked off by the time the Survival event starts, which is on Friday, 17 August 2018 at 19:00 UTC or 15:00 EDT. Therefore, if you want to help someone or are in need of help, just pop up at the Discord linked above or if you need more info, you can check in with .

From this point on, the Shields will only get harder and it's nice to see people willing to extend a helping hand. Hopefully, the trend will continue as the future Shields will offer plenty of opportunities for teaming up and meeting new friends.
