World's largest gaming company Tencent will soon begin to distribute ArenaNet's MMORPG Guild Wars 2 in China via WeGame client. Tencent's version of Steam for the Chinese market has over 300 million registered users.

ArenaNet's free to play MMORPG Guild Wars 2 is soon to be distributed by Tencent via their client WeGame in China. Guild Wars 2 originally released in China way back in 2014 as a standalone client game, published by Kongzhong.

Tencent's platform is, of course, a big opportunity for ArenaNet to attract another huge number of new players to their globally popular MMORPG. WeGame client currently has over 300 million registered users and around 80 million monthly active users. For comparison, Steam climbed to 95 million monthly active users in 2020.

The distribution announcement has been reported by Niko Partner's analyst Daniel Ahmad and you can check it out below for more details. Keep in mind that the original announcement from WeGame is in Chinese.

In other Guild Wars 2 news, ArenaNet recently caused a big controversy with three-day rollback that resulted in losing dozens of hours of progress for many players. You can find more about that in our  earlier reports.
