StarCraft will be receiving its fresh coat of 4K paint 14 August 2017 and South Korea is overjoyed. Everyone else will have a good reason and opportunity to replay Blizzard's classic RTS for the modest sum of £12.99
The remaster will improve on matchmaking and other online components along with the option to rebind keyboard shortcuts. Other than that, and the general visual overhaul, the game will remain pretty much the same. Blizzard has reportedly even went as far as replicating some of the game's glitches that have become an essential part of gameplay in competitive matches.
This is one of the rare instances where very little speaks against the game, as players will know exactly what they are getting for their money. The bonuses that come with purchasing StarCraft: Remastered before launch are essentially just new skins for the three faction's HQ buildings - a nice touch.
To make things even nicer, the original 640x480 StarCraft is completely free in case you never had the opportunity to play the almost 20 years old game, now is as good a time as any. It might even motivate you to get the remaster, should you like what you see.
