With less than a month left until the launch of Star Wars: Squadrons, EA rolled out a CG short called Hunted, which is a perfect introduction to the game.
Hunted actually precedes Star Wars: Squadrons and sets the stage for the events unfolding in-game. This includes the pilot who's being hunted, imperial squadron leader Varko Grey, whose never-say-die attitude you'll get to check out first hand in the game.
"The Empire’s retreat after a surprise attack marks yet another stumble in the wake of the second Death Star’s destruction. But for one member of Titan Squadron, the battle is far from over. Squadron Leader Varko Grey finds himself as the last TIE pilot on the battlefield, hunted relentlessly by a renegade New Republic X-wing in this standalone Star Wars: Squadrons story", the description reads.
We must admit that EA Motive, who are tasked with bringing Star Wars: Squadrons to life, really did a great job, not least for practically not taking sides. War is hell, someone once said, and yours truly happens to know that intimately - sides matter little in the moments when you're running for dear life.
Grey finds that out for himself, and his resilience is quite the backdrop for what Star Wars: Squadrons is meant to be - a hectic space-shooter. Granted, players get to pick sides so these types of escapes won't change the fact you're on a team that wants to win.
