GSC Game World announced that there will indeed be a Stalker 2 portion during Xbox Indie Showcase but there will not be any gameplay involved.
Stalker fans have been eagerly awaiting more info about Stalker 2 and while we did have an in-engine trailer as well as a few pieces of concept art, we haven't seen any actual gameplay yet.
The fans' hopes flared up when Xbox Wire announced that something like that would happen during the Xbox Indie Showcase, scheduled for March 26, 2021. It was not meant to be, however, as GSC Game World noted that the initial announcement by Xbox Wire happened due to a miscommunication and the article has been corrected soon after.
Still, this was enough time for the news to spread like wildfire and those looking forward to the footage basically got the wrong info to hype up to.
According to the statement by GSC Game World, there will be a behind the scenes video that might show some of the work that has been done on the game so far but no actual gameplay will make a debut.
The team also attached three concept art images to the announcement, possibly as a consolation for the fans who are not going to see gameplay on March 26 but it is probably not a stretch to say that they will be more hyped about GSC's statement that "bigger and louder announcements" are coming in 2021.
