Although Splatoon 2 is not a for the Nintendo Switch, there will be a demo available three weeks after the console launches. The demo event will be free, take place over three days, and feature four new main weapons including Splat Dualies, as well as remixed versions of the iconic Splat Roller and Splat Charger.

Hisashi Nogami, who works as a producer on the game, confirmed that the game will feature a Private Battle Spectator View and also noted that "Two years have passed in this universe since the original Splatoon, and since then, the weapons, maps and characters have evolved. Through the Splatoon 2 Global Testfire event this March, players will be able to get a taste of that. There will be more new features to experience in Splatoon 2, so please look forward to more reveals in the future."
The timetable of the event looks like this:
- Friday 24th March
19:00 - 19:59 GMT
- Saturday 25th March
03:00 - 03:59 GMT
11:00 - 11:59 GMT
19:00 - 19:59 GMT
- Sunday 26th March (don't forget to change the clocks)
04:00 - 04:59 BST
12:00 - 12:59 BST

The event will serve as a free chance for the players to try the game out, and as a stress test for the developers. It will also provide a sense of what it's like to play a multiplayer game on the new console. Splatoon 2 is set to release for Switch in the summer 2017.
