Sony have rolled out their PlayStation 5 global launch ad, and they claim they were going for something epic and iconic. So, did they do it? You be the judge.
"For launch, our goal has always been to create a spot that feels epic and iconic; a spot that truly celebrates our desire to push the boundaries of what is possible and evokes the excitement that you will have through the unique experiences made possible with PlayStation 5", Sony wrote in the announcement.
Sony went for the theme of exploration of the unknown, which is a pretty good choice considering that leaving the comfort zone is as scary as it is necessary for humans as a race. No worries, we won't go into anthropology all of a sudden.
In case you didn't already recognise the voice, PlayStation 5's global launch ad features Travis Scott, PlayStation brand's new strategic creative partner who did a pretty great job narrating the ad.
"We heard Travis is a huge PlayStation fan, so we started a conversation with him that led to this unique partnership. Through our mutual passion for gaming and creativity, we plan on collaborating with Travis and his Cactus Jack brand to produce innovative projects that we hope will delight our collective fans", Sony said when they brought him aboard.
On a lighter note, the comments are filled with puns, or attempts at puns focusing on the "Play has no limits" part. More precisely, it has no limits as soon as Sony make PlayStation 5 preorders available, but to be fair, we expect them to announce the dates pretty soon.
