Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix have released a next-gen update for their action adventure Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The update is available via backwards compatibility and brings faster loading times, higher frame rate and resolution and many other visual improvements.
Here's how Shadow of The Tomb Raider PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions compare:
Resolution
- Xbox Series X Native 3712x2088 (also 1620p checkerboard)
- Xbox Series S Native 1600x900
- PlayStation 5 Checkerboard 3840×1080
Loading Times
- XboxSeriesX - 13.23 sec
- Xbox Series S - 13.30 sec
- PlayStation 5 - 29.23 sec
Frame Rate
- XboxSeriesX - 60 FPS
- Xbox Series S - 60 FPS
- PlayStation 5 - 60 FPS
It's worth mentioning that the frame-rate looks to be rock solid on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S as well as in the performance mode of Xbox Series X. The quality mode, however, on MIcrosoft's flagship sometimes drops to 55 FPS, which is probably due to a higher resolution.
