Sea of Solitude, the upcoming story-driven adventure from EA and German studio Jo-Mei Games now officially has a release date, it's scheduled to drop on PC via Origin, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on 05 July 2019. It will cost $19.99.
Publisher EA and German development studio Jo-Mei Games have officially announced the release date of their story-driven adventure named Sea of Solitude. The game will launch on PC via Origin, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 05 July 2019.
According to the official announcement, Sea of Solitude will launch digitally on these platforms and there is no mention of physical release, which probably won't be coming, given the size and price of the game.
Speaking about pricing, Sea of Solitude will be available for $19.99, which is a pretty reasonable sum. If you're unfamiliar with the game, EA and Jo-Mei Games describe their title as "an emotional experience that takes players on a personal journey to overcome a young woman’s inner loneliness".
The main character is named Kay, and players must guide her through a flooded city landscape in "a deeply touching tale of darkness and light". As for the gameplay, players will get to solve various puzzles and challenges as the waters rise and flood the city even further.
On your journey, you'll also encounter fantastical creatures and monsters - good and bad - with their own, unique stories. You'll have to solve their challenges and rid the world of these beasts.
Cornelia Geppert, CEO of Jo-Mei Games said that Sea of Solitude "centres on the essence of loneliness and tugs on the heartstrings of its players by mirroring their own reality". It's by far the most artistic and personal project she ever created she said.
Sea of Solitude is set to become Jo-Mei Games' first ever title and it will be published by EA under their EA Originals indie program, which previously included titles like prison break co-op adventure A Way Out and platformer Fe.
