Capcom's success with Resident Evil 2 Remake seems to have spurred a hunger for the zombie survival series. Resident Evil 3: Nemesis is now reportedly undergoing the same treatment.
Capcom initially announced they are exploring more Resident Evil remakes before RE2 Remake even released so it's not really a surprise we are going to be treated to a Nemesis with more polygons than ever.
The rumours kicked off not long after Resident Evil 2 Remake happened but it was only recently that a YouTuber, Spawn Wave , fanned the flames after reporting that Resident Evil 3 Remake is already in development. Considering that the rumours circulated for almost the entire 2019, Spawn Wave's claims would not be that special, except that he announced this remake could be further into development and not as far from release as one might expect.
According to his sources, the target year for release is 2020, which would mean only one year will have passed from RE2 Remake release date when RE3 Remake hits the shelves.
Considering some players found Mr. X to be an annoyance in RE2 Remake, the next one may not be their cup of tea. This is due to the titular B.O.W., Nemesis, known as Pursuer in some instances, that made up most of the suspense story focus of Resident Evil 3.
In this case, it will be Jill Valentine, one of fan favourite Resident Evil characters, who is the protagonist of the game, on the run from the Pursuer. The creature is hell-bent on exterminating S.T.A.R.S. so it will be interesting to see what Capcom have in mind for the future encounters between Nemesis and our heroine.
One has to wonder if they will remake Carlos Olivera in Oded Fehr's likeness.
