Frontier Developments announced the Complete Edition of RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 has officially been launched on PC and Switch. In the case of PC, the game is up on both Steam and EGS but the latter offers an additional incentive.
RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Complete Edition is essentially a re-release of the 2006 game with two expansions attached. RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 was well-received on its own but the Complete Edition seems to be geared to overshoot the accomplishments of the base game.
One of the reasons for this is the inclusion of Soaked! and Wild! expansions that found their ways to the fans' hearts back in the day. Just like the name suggests, RCT 3 will let players control the finances, shops, services and staff of the amusement park they build.
The juicy parts of this re-release are two-fold. First, it will stay true to the old formula that the players liked in the latter part of 2000s but the modernisation will happen in the graphics and quality of life departments. It features HD visuals, widescreen support and reimagined controls that were designed specifically for Nintendo Switch.
Secondly, the PC side of things has its own perks. The game has released on September 24, 2020, simultaneously on Steam and Epic Games Store. There are no timed exclusivity shenanigans that would irk the fan base but Epic decided to offer a different incentive to play on their platform - a freebie.
From the release date until October 1, 2020, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Complete Edition will be free on Epic Games store. The exact time the freebie offer expires is 3:59 PM BST / 7:59 AM PT.
