Riot Games have posted results from a charity campaign revolving around Dark Star Cho'Gath skin and its associated icons and emotes that the company created in League of Legends as a part of partnership program with Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Riot Games seemingly take "don't spend it all in one place" seriously as the $6.1 will not go to just one charity, but rather 21 charity organisations all over the world. Another important part is that Riot is not passing just a fraction of all the revenue from the skin to these charities. They literally donated all the money earned from Dark Star Cho'Gath skin, icon, emote and border to the charities.
Bryan, who visited Riot Games in 2017 as part of their partnership with Make-A-Wish Foundation is the one who came up with the skin theme and idea. He was a cancer patient at the time and glad tidings kept piling up as not only the Cho'Gath skin he designed with Riot helped innumerable people around the world, but he was officially in remission when the video above was published on YouTube.
Charity results came with somewhat unfortunate timing, right on the back of PAX West controversy so they might be misinterpreted as a PR stunt to cover up the debacle. The evidence to the contrary is ample though - the charity sales ran from 13 July to 10 August 2018, which means the sales ended almost a month before that, while the skin itself was in creation process since 2017.
The video above contains a part of communication between the developers and Bryan, where one of the developers states they are making a blacksmith champion that can craft items while in lane so he doesn't need to go back to base. This obviously refers to Ornn, who was released on 23 August 2017 so the meeting took place before and the charity plans preceded even Kotaku's exposé.
