As expected, Capcom have officially set the date for Resident Evil 3 demo for 19 March 2020 with a short trailer. Also revealed was some information on the tag-along Resistance, whose open beta starts before the end of March.
Much like with its predecessor's remake, Capcom decided to give players a taste before they decide whether Resident Evil 3 remake is their cup of tea. We suppose Resident Evil 2 remake owners won't think twice about pouncing on its successor, rightfully so.
"The bustling industrial metropolis of Raccoon City was the place that Jill Valentine once called home. Die-hard fans, newcomers who started with last year’s Resident Evil 2, and PlayStation aficionados are surely familiar with the city’s ultimate fate, but Resident Evil 3 sheds new light on events that happened both before and after Resident Evil 2", Capcom wrote.
As for Resident Evil Resistance, which we already said is tagging along RE3 for the launch, the dev said the open beta begins on 27 March.
Note that the launch date for the full Resident Evil 3 + Resistance package remains unchanged, meaning we're still looking at 3 April 2020.
"Make your escape from a twisted experiment as part of a team of four Survivors, or take a seat in the Mastermind’s chair and attempt to crush the Survivors instead. Resident Evil Resistance will be included with Resident Evil 3, and the open beta runs right up until launch, so it’s the perfect time to start learning the ropes of this unique asymmetrical online game", Capcom wrote.
We've heard rumours that Resident Evil 3 demo launches this week and they've actually been pretty close, pegging the date for Friday. The official launch is one day earlier than that, but we're definitely not complaining.
