Krafton folks are refreshing the PUBG sandbox soon, just as the new ranked season is bound to begin.

PUBG is getting a new ranked season during the next week as the test server has already been updated with the new digs. The current test server cycle is supposed to end on June 8, 2022, when the content will be pushed to the live servers so it's safe to assume this is also when the new season will begin.

One of the main changes players will notice is the return of Paramo to the map rotation as it's replacing Vikendi, the winter-themed map. Since we are about to begin the summer and warm days are here, the change is also quite thematic.

Paramo will join the mainstays Erangel, Miramar, Sanhok and Taego for normal matches on live servers while the ranked matches will feature only Erangel, Miramar and Taego. Taego will now have a 30 per cent chance to appear, up from 20, with Miramar taking the frequency hit as it will also have a 30 per cent chance now, down from 40.

Console players that enjoy the first-person perspective (FPP) will be saddened to hear that it's getting removed in ranked on their platforms as Krafton's metrics showed them that there weren't enough players to sustain the queue.

Besides these highlights, there is a veritable wall of text that lists out all the new things coming with the next season on the official patch notes page so make sure you check that out as well.
