New Create button on PlayStation 5 controller DualSense could have a couple of interesting features according to the latest patent by Sony. It looks like the button will allow players to create their own in-game shareable demos.
A while back, we found out that Sony are working on a feature which would allow players to ask for help from other players if they find themselves stuck at a certain obstacle in the game. Another player would jump in, solve the puzzle or beat the boss and the host would then continue their playthrough normally.
According to the latest patent by Sony, which recently appeared online , a similar feature could also be available via the new Create button. The patent description states that players will be able to cut out gameplay and make minigames limited to specific scenes.
Players can then save these minigames on the cloud and share it with other users who can play them. This sounds similar to a GamerNet feature in Tiger Woods where players were able to save shots and put them online for others to replicate.
Furthermore, it seems that Sony want to allow other players to "relive" moments that players recorder, rather than simply watch the video. For example, you could save a certain unique gameplay segment that happened in your playthrough and share it with friends so they can play that moment too.
Of course, this is just speculation at the moment since Sony are yet to officially reveal everything that PS5's new Create button can do. Hopefully, we'll hear more details at the upcoming PS5 event, which is rumoured for August 2020.
