Owlcat Games are dropping crowdfunding milestones as if they were hot potatoes. Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous tripled the initial funding goal in just over five days as the developers keep adding stretch goals in order to keep up with the backers.
Pathfinder: Kingmaker enjoyed quite a bit of success when Owlcat Games released it in late September 2018. Naturally, it wasn't perfect for everyone but those who liked the game remembered the developers brought them something beautiful and are now paying back in kind.
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous initially had a humble crowdfunding goal of $300,000 which is not that much for game development when you consider certain gigantic budgets that upcoming video games can get.
However, the fans obliterated that first milestone in just one day and are continuing to pour in as there were over 15,000 backers at the time of writing this article. The funding had reached over $900,000 at the same time, closing in on the seventh stretch goal that the developers posted.
Since the goal is highly likely to be reached on 10 February 2020, it's safe to say that the team will go through with it and add evolving animal companions. It sounds like a run of the mill feature but it's not every day that we see armoured bears that know martial arts and breathe fire.
Sounds crazy? Yeah, the developers admitted as much but such a thing is possible in Pathfinder tabletop game so they decided it can qualify for the video game as well.
The new stretch goals were not announced at the time of writing but we will update this article when Owlcat Games add them since it should be only a matter of hours now.
