The news doesn't come as a major surprise since Avowed is set in the Pillars of Eternity universe.
Avowed is one of the most anticipated Xbox exclusives but so far, we didn't get much information about the game. Revealed two years ago at the Xbox Showcase with a short CGI trailer, Avowed was not featured in Xbox's shows since then so fans have every right to expect some gameplay this year.
But until we hear more about Avowed on June 12, we have a brand new leak from WindowsCentral reporter Jez Corden and Xbox YouTuber Rand al Thor, the duo that hosts the Xbox Two podcast.
Corden and Rand were guests at the Defining Duke Episode 74 where they mentioned that they've seen early Avowed gameplay which had guns combat among stealth, archery and magic gameplay.
They clarified that guns already exist in the Pillars of Eternity universe and since Avowed is set in the same universe, it's not surprising that muskets and such weapons will appear in Obsidian's first-person RPG. You can listen to the Avowed part in the video below from the 1:52:15 mark.
Avowed still does not have a release date but there's a chance we might hear something regarding that on June 12. The game is not expected to launch this year though, as rumours suggest it's probably targeting the first half of 2023.
Avowed is Xbox ecosystem exclusive, meaning it's launching on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
