The first-person perspective is apparently starting to become both Obsidian's preferred method of delivering roleplaying experiences as well as starting to become an industry standard since CD Projekt Red took a similar step with Cyberpunk 2077.
The listings were initially spotted by and aside from several mentions of melee combat and first-person perspective, there are repeated mentions of "branching dialogue" and "conversations and cutscenes". These mentions, coupled with Obsidian's history of developing RPGs leaves little to no doubt about the future game's genre.
Whatever this RPG turns out to be, it will be developed in Unreal Engine 4 it seems as several listings state that having knowledge in its workings is a plus for potential candidates.
