Players in New World immediately noticed the low amount of variety between enemies and quests in the game but that is getting fixed soon as the new content is heading to PTR.
New World 's lack of variety in enemies and quests is going to be tuned a bit as AGS announced they are bringing more variety up for testing at the newly announced PTR . That's not all, however, as endgame chasers will also get a bit of new stuff to play with.
The new enemies in New World will mostly be introduced in low-level zones as the Varangian Raiders, who appear to be the first proper NPC human enemies we will face. AGS mentioned four types of these enemies, including Varangian Hewers, Varangian Scouts, Varangian Knights and Varangian Archers. Their level will range from 16 to 20 and they will inhabit beginning areas like First Light, Monarch's Bluffs and Everfall.
More enemy variation will be present throughout the entire game but they are a mix and match of existing enemies, such as:
- Withered Swarmancer
- Lost Shaman
- Pirate Alligator (!)
- Ancient Guardian Pyromancer
- Enhanced Corrupted Laborers
Of all these things, we just can't wait to see what the pirate alligators are all about. If they don't wear a hat or an eyepatch, all these additions have been for nothing.
Anyway, there will be new additions to the main storyline quests as well, with the addition of wave events, destructible objects and proximity nodes for tracking.
Those who are already level 60 and looking for new content can grab the Void Gauntlet and start the associated Legendary Quest from Antiquarian Abbington in Reekwater. Magaki's Strategem in Shattered Mountain and the quest chain from Legatus Fulvius in Reekwater will need to be completed in order to be eligible for the new adventure.
All these additions are coming to PTR first and once the testing is done, they will head to the live servers.
