Need for Speed Payback just got a reveal trailer on the game's YouTube channel. The game will launch worldwide on 10 November for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Origin for PC.
I did an article a couple of days ago on a teaser image shared on Need for Speed's twitter page. The image was really foggy and we discussed whether the new game will be set in Seattle or Las Vegas . The correct answer turned out to be: neither. Well, Las Vegas. Kind of. The new Need For Speed will be set on the streets of Fortune Valley. So yea. Vegas, baby.
A reveal trailer just dropped and the story will revolve around three different characters: the Racer, Showman, and Wheelman. The trio comes together to pull off some heists and get their revenge on a cartel called The House.
The House is "a nefarious cartel that rules the city’s casinos, criminals, and cops". And they always win, am I right? The blurb accompanying the video says:
"Your car is at the center of everything you do. Craft unique rides with deeper performance and visual customization than ever before. From intense missions to high stakes car battles to jaw dropping set piece moments, Need for Speed Payback delivers an edge-of-your-seat, action-driving fantasy."
The three characters: Tyler, the Racer; Mac, the Showman; and Jess, the Wheelman will try to earn the respect of the Fortune Valley underground. Since we're in a gambling town, I'd like to say something along the lines of "all bets are off", but unfortunately for me, its quite the opposite.
Evidently, all bets are on as you can actually bet on your own performance and get a chance to "multiply [your] winnings or risk losing it all".
Everyone who pre-orders the game "will receive the Need for Speed Payback Platinum Car Pack and get instant access to five uniquely customised and tuned iconic cars at launch, each with exclusive Platinum Blue Tire Smoke."
The Car Pack includes:
- Nissan 350Z 2008
- Chevrolet Camaro SS 1967
- Dodge Charger R/T 1969
- Ford F-150 Raptor 2016
- Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport 2016
There will also be a Need for Speed Payback Deluxe Edition which "gives players up to three days of early access to the full game, along with exclusive customization items such as the Deluxe Edition license plate and NOS colour, in-game discounts, Rep bonuses, everything the Platinum Car Pack has to offer, and more."
Furthermore, EA Access and Origin Access members will be able to access the game and play it for up to ten hours on 02 November, in addition to a 10 percent discount on the digital version of Need for Speed Payback.
Need for Speed Payback will be available worldwide on 10 November for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Origin for PC.
