2K Games have revealed that Anthony Davis and Dwyane Wade will be the cover athletes for NBA 2K20. Appropriately enough, Wade will be featured only on the Legend edition as he has officially retired from playing professional basketball.
Anthony Davis will be featured on two covers of NBA 2K20, standard and digital deluxe editions. In the case of pre-ordering, the standard edition will include a pile of microtransaction items:
- 5,000 Virtual Currency
- 5,000 MyTEAM Points
- 5 MyCAREER Skill Boosts
- MyPLAYER Clothing Capsule
- 10 MyTEAM League packs (delivered one a week)
- 5 Heat Check packs (delivered one a week beginning at the start of the NBA season)
Standard edition comes at the standard AAA price tag. Digital Deluxe edition will offer mostly the same bonuses but with increased quantities, as follows:
- 35,000 Virtual Currency
- 10,000 MyTEAM Points
- 10 MyCAREER Skill Boosts
- MyPLAYER Clothing Capsule
- 10 MyTEAM League packs (delivered one a week)
- 5 Heat Check packs (delivered one a week beginning at the start of the NBA season)
- 1 Sapphire MyTEAM Cover Athlete Card
The Sapphire MyTEAM cover athlete card is a major difference here since cover athletes tend to be both extremely useful and represented with high fidelity in the game. This edition will set the fans back $79.99.
Dwyane Wade will be featured only on the Legend edition cover. This edition will cost $99.99 and, as expected offer the highest amount of microtransaction items as a bonus:
- 100,000 Virtual Currency
- 50,000 MyTEAM Points
- 20 MyCAREER Skill Boosts
- MyPLAYER Clothing Capsule
- MyPLAYER Apparel Collection
- MyPLAYER Shoe Collection
- 20 MyTEAM League packs (delivered one a week)
- 20 Heat Check packs (delivered one a week beginning at the start of the NBA season)
- 5 MyTEAM Theme Packs (one per theme release across the first five releases)
- 2 Sapphire MyTEAM Cover Athlete Card

As per usual, we advise you exercise caution before pre-ordering anything but 2K did release a short gameplay trailer you can see above. All editions will become available worldwide, across all platforms on 6 September 2019.
