A Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remaster could be releasing for PlayStation 4 during the coming week. Speculation that Activision is resolving the Infinity/Modern Warfare hostage situation today seems to have been unfounded. Alternatively, it might be a strange retail only kind of deal.
Supposed of a standalone retail version of the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remaster, coming our way courtesy of , seems to have been off target. While we are not able to confirm the retail release, there is no digital version in sight on the UK or German PlayStation Store.

Either the leak is for real, or someone went through a lot of trouble for an elaborate hoax.
The Modern Warfare Remaster was famously gated behind the pricey Legacy edition of Infinite Warfare. Should the game hit retail in a week, as the leak suggests, then it will most likely be priced around the £30 range.

Either way, the remaster hostage situation will most likely be resolved when Infinite Warfare sales become low enough for Activision to realise that they have a remastered product sitting in their library that no one is buying.
Another thing to consider is that Sony and Activision have some sort of delayed exclusivity deal for Call of Duty releases. So far, this has delayed the release of related content for about a month, and PC and Xbox players will most likely have to wait a bit before they can get their hands on it. Once it actually gets released that is.
