Telltale and Mojang revealed that the second season of Minecraft: Story Mode will be available across all platforms on 11 July. The story will follow Jesse after she gets her hand stuck in some kind of an ancient gauntlet. Telltale's "Crowd Play" feature will also be available.
Telltale Games and Mojang have announced the first official trailer for Minecraft: Story Mode - Season Two. Trailer's focus is on the first episode of the season, named Hero in Residence. The episode will be available for download starting Tuesday, 11 July, 2017.
Hero in Residence for PC will become available Telltale's online store starting at 08:01 AM BST on 11 July, and it will available through Steam and other digital storefronts later that same day.

Minecraft: Story Mode - Season Two will carry on Jesse's story in a "five-part, narrative-driven, episodic game series" that Telltale developed in collaboration with Mojang and members of the Minecraft community, says the press release.
If you played the first season, your choices will carry over into this one, and the developers assure us that "this new season will be accessible to both returning fans and newcomers alike". Crowd Play, Telltale's multiplayer feature that allows group adventures and only cares if your mobile device has an "online connection" will also be available in the new season.

According to the press release, the new story goes something like this:
"Now that Jesse and the gang have vanquished the Wither Storm, saved the world, and become totally super famous heroes, life has gotten a bit more...complicated. With more responsibilities and less time for adventure, old friendships have started to fade -- at least until Jesse's hand gets stuck in a creepy gauntlet that belongs to an ancient underwater temple. Together with old pals and new comrades alike, Jesse embarks on a brand new journey filled with tough choices, good times, and at least one temperamental llama."

Season two will be a standalone product, separate from both the core Minecraft game and season one of Minecraft: Story Mode. The new season will be available for download on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android-based devices. A disc version will be made available this fall.
