We've got less than a week until the launch of Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond, so Respawn decided to shed some light on hard-drive and other system requirements.
Now, if you were hoping to see modest requirements for jumping into Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond, let us remind you that this is a VR game. As such, some demands you may normally consider lavish could easily be standard in VR-land.
That said, Respawn's requirements still seem a bit over the top, most notably disk space and graphics. We're talking about minimum system requirements, mind you.
And the minimum for Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond includes having more than 340GB of free space. To be fair, this is only necessary for the unpacking process, and once the game is unpacked, it will take up around 170GB.
Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond's graphics is yet another feature with the potential to break the bank. Respawn's minimum is Nvidia RTX 2080 or higher, a graphics card that starts at $699.
- Intel i7 9700K (or comparable AMD)
- 16 GB DDR4 RAM
- Nvidia RTX 2080 or higher
- 340+ GB of space to unpack/install; 170 GB once installed; SSD/NVMe recommended
Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond launches on December 11, 2020, and one cannot help but admire Respawn's confidence. Whereas most companies delayed their December releases to 2021, Zampella and Co decided to keep the launch date as is, just one day after Cyberpunk 2077.
Then again, Respawn have sufficient experience in launching next to high-profile AAA releases. Yes, EA, we will never forget.
