Firaxis and 2K unveiled their turn-based Marvel game and provided quite a few details ahead of the gameplay showcase that is coming next week.
Marvel's Midnight Suns is currently set to release in March 2022 which is not that far away, especially because some games tend to announce themselves almost a decade before release. Firaxis folks are still in the business of giving the fans something to play with instead of teasing though as they provided a lot of information with the initial announcement but also noted a proper gameplay showcase is coming on September 1, 2021.
In the meantime, you can check out the trailer that may be slightly confusing with the narration so here is a few pointers - what the heroes, including Dr Strange, are trying to do with a sarcophagus is to wake up The Hunter in order to fight the evil that the narrator talks about. Lilith is the aforementioned evil and one of the story's twists here is that she is the mother of The Hunter.
This particular character is the one we will be playing. The Hunter is a customisable hero so even though the trailer depicts her as a female, you will be able to make the character however you like it.
As for their entourage, The Hunter will be accompanied by 12 distinct Marvel heroes, nine of which have already been revealed:
- Ghost Rider
- Captain America
- Dr Strange
- Iron Man
- Captain Marvel
- Nico Minoru
Players will be sending these heroes all over the globe to combat threats and ultimately beat down the big bad.
