League of Legends players have something to look out for because Riot Games has just announced the first-ever legendary skin for Shaco, Cats Shaco.
That is a skin that will arrive together with the upcoming event of April Fools' and promises some fun twist to his regular mischievous persona as a champion.
We had a number of awesome skins last season, from Dragonmancer all the way to Primal Ambush, Heavenscale to Empyrean, Faerie Court and Anima Squad 2024. This year, Riot will be continuing with new themes in Masque of the Black Rose, Cafe Cuties and Mythmaker.
Cats vs Dogs skins
Cats vs Dogs is a light-hearted skin theme that happens to share a release date with Riot's annual April Fools' event. Champions within this theme draw inspiration from felines and canines in both appearance and personality.
Well-known skins include Pretty Kitty Rengar, Meowrick, and Fuzz Fizz. This theme was last updated in 2023, which included the skins Woof and Lamb Kindred, Kibble-Head Kled, Kittalee, and Shiba Yuumi.
This year, the tradition continues with Cats Shaco, a legendary-tier skin that Riot says will include voice work by actual cats.
Shaco skin details
The Cats Shaco skin will cost 1820 RP, which is the standard for all legendary skins. Riot hasn't released all the details about this yet, but they teased that it would include unique animations, effects, and sound design to fit the bill for being a legendary skin.
Release date
The Cats Shaco skin will be released in Patch 25.S1.6, going live on March 19, 2025. Shaco is not going to be the only one since other champions will also join the ranks with their respective April Fools' skins.
