One of the, arguably, manliest men of the Rift, Taric, has not seen the light of day for seasons now. The recent patch 12.11 buffs may make that change though.
Taric is an enchanter/tank in a meta that has, for seasons now, been focusing on one or the other at the expense of either classes, offering this champion very little room to maneuver in.
Howeever, the durability update has now made it so that no ridiculously large shields are needed to save an ADC from an assassin, nor is it a possibility for an engage support to bully an ADC all by themselves.
Instead, what is needed is someone to keep the ADC alive long enough to kill the enemy frontline, and be tanky anough to stand in-between the two parties. That is where Taric comes in.
Here is what Riot had to say about his buffs:
" Taric hasn’t been the radiant gem he once was, so we’re giving him some large buffs that should help him thrive in extended combat situations to help him shine in the new meta."
With patch 12.11 Taric has received the following buffs:
- Q healing increased, mana cost decreased and no longer increases with rank.
- E cooldown decreased, stun duration increased.
For a champion that struggles with mana this is an incredible boon, and the fact that his stun has an increased cooldown means that Taric can even hold his own against some champions, much less keep an ADC alive and give them the time to kill everything in sight.
