Riot Games have posted a poll on the official League of Legends website, offering players a choice between five champions they can vote on. The winner will be reworked from ground up in 2020 but may not be the first rework of the year.
Riot Games offered a choice between Dr. Mundo, Nocturne, Shyvana, Fiddlesticks and Volibear for players to vote on. The winner of the poll will be reworked in 2020 but it is not guaranteed that it will be the first rework of the year.
This is likely due to the current where Riot Games already outlined what they will be doing next. The developers will focus on updating the last of champions with the infamous pizza feet, which is a remnant of the art style from League of Legends' early days where champions have oversized feet that sometimes look like pizza slices.
Pantheon and Mordekaiser are in Riot's crosshairs for these visual updates and to varying extents, for gameplay updates. Mordekaiser is known as a problematic champion with a vast pool of bugs that could rival any of Bethesda's games.
Furthermore, Riot will be looking to add a brand new AD assassin champion that will utilise its environment to maximise the potential of their abilities.
Riot noted the remaining four champions will not be excluded from reworks but will just take a back seat for the moment. Future champion updates may or may not be chosen through votes though and it will largely depend on how well the players receive the current poll.
One champion that is in dire need of a makeover and is not mentioned in either the poll or the champion roadmap, is Udyr. He has pizza feet that are mostly hidden by his skirt but they do pop out on occasion. His animations are in need of a rework too, so it will be interesting if Riot's developers manage to squeeze him into the 2020 rework list.
