Crytek announced new DLC for Hunt Showdown, featuring a new way to play the PvPvE clash through either employing the new weapons or the hunter.
Hunt: Showdown may be inspired by the Wild West but it's an Eastern hunter that the game is getting in the latest update. Namely, the DLC is named after Ronin, who will be joining the other hunters as they look for the supernatural and attempt to prevent others from doing the same.
Ronin's real name is Inuta Bakin and he had sworn his oath of allegiance shortly before the Tokugawa shogunate was deposed, leaving the warrior in an unenviable position. This caused him to wander the world in an attempt to find the power to exact revenge, which eventually led him to the swamps where the game is unfolding.
The Oni mask-wearing hunter will come with two unique weapons if purchased. The Tanto is the blade he has carried since he swore the oath and it has apparently never failed him.
The other weapon is Seinan Sharpshooter, a unique Springfield 1866. Just like the name suggests, Ronin has used it successfully to pick off enemies from afar and the weapon should probably be useful while bushwhacking opponents nad unnatural creatures in North American swamps.
Ronin DLC will cost $6.99 / €6.99 but it's discounted by 10 per cent in the launch week, until December 21, 2020.
Besides the DLC, Crytek also released a chunky update that altered many of the familiar workings of Hunt: Showdown.
