Crytek have released a major update for their battle royale hybrid Hunt Showdown. The update is live on consoles and it brings cross-play function between PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, new time of day, equipment and a lot more.
Hunt: Showdown is one of the most if not the most unique shooters on the market. Crytek's hybrid battle royale is a hardcore title for those who prefer realistic gameplay instead of flashy cosmetics in PUBG and Fortnite and today, it got a brand new update, which introduced a ton of fresh additions.
The highlight of the 1.3 update is the cross-play feature between PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game will now connect both player bases which will hopefully help with matchmaking times and make match searching a much easier and faster process.
Another big addition is the new time of day - Sunset. The addition brings new lighting which players can use to their advantage, depending on their movement through the Bayou.
As for the new equipment, this update features two new weapon variants, the "Martini-Henry IC1 Marksman" and the "Mosin-Nagant M1891 Obrez Drum", a new tool, the "Decoy Fuses", as well as a new trait, "Levering", which allows lever-action rifles to rapid-fire from the shoulder, giving the Winfield rifles a new layer of tactical flexibility at close quarters.
On top of this, the update also brings new weapon changes, improved death screen and lobby and new legendary content. You can read more about that and other additions in the patch notes here.
