IO Interactive confirmed that Hitman 3's Switch launch will not be lagging behind the other platforms and will be available on day one, i.e. January 20, 20201.
The company posted a reminder via Twitter, writing, "Hitman 3 on Nintendo Switch arrives 20 January! The World of Assassination awaits..."
If you're just tuning in, you're probably thinking how Nintendo Switch's hardware isn't exactly tailored to the performance needed by Agent 47's latest adventure, and you're right - it isn't.
Thankfully, Nintendo and IO Interactive came up with a solution in cloud gaming, so Switch owners should be playing it in all its glory, unhindered by any hardware shortcomings.
Of course, this means you'll have to be hooked to a constant internet connection to play Hitman 3, but it's a small price to pay to have Agent 47 running around on Switch like it's PlayStation 5.
And there will plenty to see in Hitman 3, as IO Interactive recently posted a brief, spoiler-free guide of all the in-game locations.
You've probably seen Dubai by now, as it was featured in most previews, but Hitman 3 will also take you to Dartmoor in the United Kingdom, Berlin in Germany, Chongqing in China, and the final mission, which takes place in the vineyard-heavy region of Mendoza in Argentina.
Cloud gaming has really made great strides forward and you may recall that Remedy's Control launched on Switch thanks to the same tech. Considering the games would've been unplayable on Nintendo's little guy otherwise, there are really no downsides to going this route.
Hitman 3 launches on January 20, 2021, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Google Stadia and Nintendo Switch.
