Warner Bros. have officially announced that their Harry Potter RPG Hogwarts Legacy has been delayed to 2022. The devs need more time to deliver the best possible experience, it's written in the announcement.

Hogwarts Legacy, which was announced by Warner Bros. in 2020 will not be coming before 2022, the publisher announced today via their social media channels. The long-awaited Harry Potter RPG was initially scheduled for release sometime this year, but it seems that the developers need more time to complete the game and deliver the best possible Harry Potter experience yet.

Here's the statement which Warner Bros. shared via Hogwart's Legacy Twitter:

"We would like to thank fans from around the world on the tremendous reaction to the Hogwarts Legacy from our Portkey Games label. Creating the best possible experience for all of the Wizarding World and gaming fans is paramount to us so we are giving the game the time it needs. Hogwarts Legacy will be released in 2022."

Sadly, we do not know if the game is coming in early 2022 or a bit later in the year. The revealed release window is as broad as it can be so don't be surprised if it's scheduled for late 2022, though.

In case you're not familiar with Hogwarts Legacy, the game is described as an immersive, open-world action RPG set in the world first introduced in the Harry Potter books. Players will get to explore familiar and new locations and discover fantastic beasts, customize their character and craft potions, master spell casting, upgrade talents, and become the wizard they want to be.

Hogwarts Legacy is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
