Halo developer 343 Industries confirmed that if everything goes according to plan, the first closed beta test for Halo: Reach will start next week, exclusively for a small subsection of Halo Insider members. This beta will run only on PC.

Halo: Reach is getting its first beta test on PC sometime this week it's been officially confirmed by the developers 343 Industries in their latest blog post. The date is not specifically locked yet, as plans could change along the way, but the beta is definitely coming in the week ahead of us.

The closed beta or Flight how the devs like to call it will be available only to a small number of players who are members of the Halo Insider program. While the chances to get into the beta test are quite slim, you can give it a shot and sign up for the Halo Insider Program on the official website .

343 Industries explained the decision to include such a small number of players in the first beta by saying that they want to make sure everything goes buttery smooth once they launch the test.

"We're starting more modestly because we've got quite a few levers to pull and we want to ensure our delivery pipeline runs smoothly, our communications are clear, and that participants can properly provide their feedback on the build," it's written in the announcement.

They also confirmed that the development team is close to finalising the closed beta test for PC and will share the specific start date in the upcoming days.

"We're still targeting to release next week and will be sharing the details with the public, so even if you aren't selected for the flight, you'll know what's happening. Stay tuned for more details throughout," the devs said.

Halo: Reach is a part of the Master Chief Collection that is coming to PC sometime in 2019. Master Cheif Collection will also include other Halo hits such as Halo 2, Halo 3: ODST and Halo 4. Each title will have a beta test before the release.
